Lessons in Writing 101

Don't save two Word files with the same name and roughly the same content. Because you'll update one file with a great and amazing piece of writing.

And then save over the updated file with the un-updated file.

I would suggest asking Him Indoors for assistance. There are a bunch of tools which are able to recover overwritten text from .doc files.

I wish I could think of a reliable way of getting the file back. Sadly, searches on data recovery are always spammed with "companies" that have a solution, most of which are just a rip off and there's no guarantee of success. I'll ask a few techies in work and see what they think.

Cheers,
Him Indoors.
